It's a really fun twist on the regular Guess Who format and would be absolutely ideal for a young and excitable football fan. There are a few things that you need to consider, though. The first is that all players tend to go in and out of fashion, so the players on this particular board (like Mbappé, Palmer etc) may not be as popular by the time you give this to whomever you intend to give it to. For example, Darwin Núñez has already moved to Saudi Arabia and is probably already dropping out of the public eye in the UK. The makers of the game have clearly identified this risk, which is presumably why all the players feature in their national team kits which are not going to change, rather than their club team kits which will go out of date very quickly. The second thing you have to consider is the fact that this is not a typical Guess Who game, which would normally have a range of faces that have comical exaggerated features. The footballers all have far fewer distinguishing features, which an advantage or disadvantage depending on what you want from the game. It certainly makes the game more challenging, and is likely to improve communication skills of the players who are using it. However, it's probably worth looking at the player images in the listing, and you can perhaps gauge better from that whether you'll feel like it's suitable for the person you intend to give this to. For what it's worth, we actually found it a refreshing and more invigorating variant of Guess Who, and my children were more motivated to try this out than they would have been had this been a standard Guess Who set. As long as you're aware of the potential caveats, I think this is a really fun and interesting take the standard Guess Who game that's been around for decades.

This version of the classic game has been fun for football fans in the house, with a good mix of current players included. The setup is simple and doesn’t take long, which makes it suitable for quick rounds. The two-character mode adds more challenge and keeps the game fresh after several plays. The cards feel sturdy enough to handle repeated use without bending, and the pictures are clear so kids can recognise the players easily. Some younger players needed help with pronunciation of a few names, but it turned into part of the fun. It would be nice to see even more players included in future editions, but the selection covers many well-known names. It has been a nice way to bring the family together for a short game that everyone can join in with.

this fun twist on guess who teams up with top trumps to bring a famous footballer theme to the classic guessing game. it features a whole raft of the top players across the world and will be an engaging and fun spin that will entertain young football fans a lot more than the classic cartoon characters possibly could. given the fleeting stardom of some players it probably is not as well placed for long term staying power in the games collection but at £20 it's more than worth the value you're get from it before it does outlast its relevancy. kids will love it.

OK so this is a cheaply made version of Guess Who with card rather than plastic components. That said my son (24!) loves it and has managed to make it into a drinking game...but then again, what can't be!

These are good quality stands with thick photos to slide in, exactly like the original, so they should last a while. The selection of players is good, and are mostly well known ones from a range of clubs. However, the photos of the players are terrible for this type of game. Some are side on, too far away, lots with similar features or no defining features. It makes this game near impossible to play or eliminate people. I feel these photos should have all been face on with at least a clear idea of eye colour etc! Its even more frustrating for those who dont know much about the players. The top trumps stats is a nice addition but I would not purchase this again until the photos are improved.

First impressions of this were good, we love guess who so my kids were so excited to get this football version. The branded box instantly caught their eye and they couldn’t wait to play it. The game is exactly the same as the original guess who game but you get the to trump element too with various stats included. The only disappointment for us is that it says it’s the “World football stars” yet it’s only male players, not any of the female teams which my daughter was disappointed about, as she loves football and felt it was more geared to her brother. Would have been nice to have some lionesses in there along with some of the other top female players to fully represent the worlds top football stars! Other than that, they really enjoyed playing it and from a parents perspective I love how it’s easy enough for them to play by themselves despite their big age gap. The game also feels good quality so will last and it’s fairly small so will tuck neatly away in our storage cubes. I also think it’s pretty good value for money.
